Seller guide – How to sell on RETRO//VRS

  • Step 1 – Upload your item's certificate of authenticity

    To get started with listing your item on the marketplace, click here and fill in the form. Upload the certificate of authenticity (in PDF format) of your item. If your item has a serial number, include it as well. If not, leave the serial number blank.

  • Step 2 – Our team will review the certificate of authenticity

    If the certificate of authenticity is approved by our team, we will accept the item. To see if your item has been approved, see the Pending Items list here . If the certificate of authenticity appears invalid to us, we cannot accept the item on our marketplace.

  • Step 3 – If approved, fill in the listing form

    In the pending items list here, click on the GO TO LISTING FORM button and fill out the form. You will have to take photos of your item (at least 6, no more than 12) SEE THE PHOTO TAKING GUIDE HERE. Note that most of the info you submit cannot be changed once the form has been filled in. The info you are able to change once posted are: price and description. (In beta, you cannot change photos after posting yet. We also do not have a saving feature yet, so you must fill out and submit the form in one go.)

  • Step 4 – Final review of your item

    Our team will do a final review of the form you submitted for your item, and we will mint some information on the Polygon blockchain. (your email associated to your account will be on the blockchain as the current owner of your item, but no other information will be posted there.) We will email you to let you know that your item has officially been posted on our marketplace.

If you wish to set your item for sale, just go to the EDIT ITEM SECTION at the top of this page, and set your item to FOR SALE. You can change back between FOR SALE and NOT FOR SALE as long as your item is not currently being checked out or shipped to a buyer.]

  • Step 5 – Marking your item as FOR SALE

    By default, all new items posted on the marketplace are initially set as NOT FOR SALE, but they are still visible to potential buyers. To set your item as FOR SALE, go to the EDIT ITEM SECTION at the top of your item's page and set it to FOR SALE. You can switch between FOR SALE and NOT FOR SALE as long as your item is not currently being checked out or shipped to a buyer.

  • Step 6 – Ship your item to the buyer

    Once the buyer has purchased your item, the next step will be for you to ship the item to the buyer. The buyer's shipping address is found in the your Buyer Dashboard, under 'Orders placed for my items '. See PACKING AND SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS HERE. Make sure to keep the tracking number of your order. (TO DO - ADD TRACKING NUMBER FIELD TO ORDERS TABLE).

  • Step 7 – Collecting your payment

    The buyer will confirm with us when they have received the item. If the user is satisfied with it, they will mark the order as complete. You will then be able to collect your payment from the sale. If the user is not satisfied with the item, they will make a return & refund request, and they will send the item back to you. We will contact you to enter your address to ship to ?? If the user decides to keep the item, go to your seller dashboard and click on the COLLECT PAYMENT button for that order. If this is your first time collecting a payment on RETRO//VRS, you will be prompted to create a connected account with Stripe. Once you have done so, you will see the payments you can collect.

  • Step 8 – Final step - transfer of ownership on the blockchain

    Finally, we will officially switch the buyer to be the current owner of the item on the blockchain.

Buyer guide – How to buy on RETRO//VRS

  • Step 1 – Adding an item to your cart

    If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in. After this, you will be able to add the item in your cart (or your favorites). Note that each item is unique and the item may already be in other user's cart. NOTE: we recommend you only keep one item in your cart at a time. Checkout is done separately for each item, so you cannot purchase multiple items in one checkout.
  • Step 2 – Purchasing an item

    If you are really interested in an item we recommend you proceed to checkout immediately to reduce chances of another user purchasing it before you. The first user to click on CHECKOUT in the /cart page will be prompted to checkout with Stripe. MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE ADDRESS INFORMATION YOU WANT THE ITEM TO BE SHIPPED TO. There is no separate place to enter shipping address, so the billing address you enter in the checkout page will be the address given to the seller of the item. If you have made a mistake and the address you entered in checkout is not the one you want to be shipped to, please contact us at support@retrovrs.com.

  • Step 3 – Marking the item as received

    You will be notified by email when the seller has shipped your item. We strongly recommend you take photos of the item when ou have received it. Once you receive the item, go to the order in your BUYER DASHBOARD (profile page) and mark the item as received. You must do this as soon as you receive the item, regardless of whether the item is satisfactory or not.

  • Step 4 – Marking the sale as complete

    After marking the item as received, please inspect the item carefully and take photos of the item. If you are happy with the item, mark the sale as complete in your seller dashboard. Please do this as soon as possible, as the seller will only be able to collect their payment once you do this. If you are not satisfied with the item you received, see step 5.

  • Step 5 – Requesting a return & refund

    If you are not satisfied with the item you received: email us at support@retrovrs.io to explain why. Please include photos of the item. We will then issue a refund/return request for you and (how does shipping work???)
